The goal of Reader's Workshop is to create lifelong readers! Students practice reading, think about books, and talk about books on a daily basis.
Mini-Lesson: Explicit instruction, teaching students strategies for reading and reading comprehension.
Independent Reading: The most important part of Reader's Workshop.Students independently read practicing the mini lesson strategy building on past mini-lessons. As students read, teacher confers with students on a particular skill or strategy that they need to work on.
Share: Students come back together to share their thoughts, questions, and ideas about today's lesson.
